The long-awaited anime adaptation of Sakamoto Days has arrived, and it has wasted no time in making its presence felt.
Sakamoto Days was the Most-Watched TV Show on Netflix Japan in January.
With an already devoted fanbase from its successful ongoing Shonen Jump run, there was a huge hype around the anime ever since it was first announced. The series’ debut on January 12 was met with strong enthusiasm and equally solid viewing figures across the country. Since its premiere, Sakamoto Days has been on the #1 spot on Netflix Japan as the country’s most-watched TV show every week. Proving that the action-comedy series is a force to be reckoned with and is well on its way to becoming Jump’s next big hit.
Its combination of high-octane action and humor has resonated deeply with both long-time readers and new fans alike, further propelling its popularity, as the show’s growing rousing acclaim has also translated into a remarkable boost in manga sales.
Sakamoto Days was the 3rd Best-Selling Manga of January 2025.
Following the anime’s debut, Sakamoto Days saw a staggering 438,163 copies sold across all volumes and was the 3rd Best Selling Manga for January 2025. The newly released Volume 20 alone sold 117,987 copies, while earlier volumes experienced a significant resurgence in demand as well.
