Jujutsu Kaisen has started the fiscal year of 2022 in its glorious style as the manga series has returned to take back the first spot in Oricon Monthly Charts from Tokyo Revengers which has been at the first spot for six consecutive months prior to January. Within the first two months of the fiscal year of 2022, Jujutsu Kaisen has already sold almost 5 million copies as it remains the Most Popular Ongoing Manga in Japan.
The release of a new volume as well as the prequel movie during Christmas has given yet another boost to the manga series and shot Jujutsu Kaisen back up the Oricon charts with almost all of the volumes for the series selling over 100,000 copies in backlogs during January.
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 18 was the 3rd Most Popular Manga Volume of December 2021 as it sold over 667,857 copies in just two days and was the Best-Selling Volume of January 2022 selling over a whopping 1 million copies. The series also saw a huge 288% boost in the sales of its backlogs within the first week of the release of the prequel anime movie.
The movie has been a huge success and is already the 10th Highest Grossing Japanese Movie Ever at the Domestic Box Office.
