Far Right Supporter Elon Calls Stewart a “Propagandist” After Ditching Unedited Daily Show Interview—Stewart Fires Back: “Not Sure He Knows What Bipartisan Means”

By now, it’s quite clear that Musk often makes spontaneous claims to appease his far-right followers without actually following through—we all remember when he challenged Zuckerberg to a fight. Once again, he seems to have backpedaled after initially stating that he would sit down with The Daily Show “if the interview were to air unedited.”

Jon Stewart Laughs Off Musk’s “Bipartisan” Claim: “That’s Just the Same S*”**

Jon Stewart didn’t hold back after Elon Musk backed out of an interview on The Daily Show despite the show accepting his conditions for an unedited broadcast. The comedian responded to Musk’s accusation that he’s “too partisan” with sharp criticism, questioning whether the Tesla CEO even understands the meaning of bipartisanship.

The controversy began after Stewart criticized Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in a Daily Show segment, calling out the agency’s sweeping cuts to the federal workforce.

“We are DOGEing in the wrong place if we really want to change the system,” Stewart said, slamming Musk’s approach.

Following the remarks, Musk expressed interest in appearing on the show, posting on X, “I will do it if the show airs unedited.” However, just days later, Musk backpedaled, dismissing Stewart as “much more a propagandist than it would seem.”

Stewart addressed the situation on Monday night’s episode of The Daily Show, recounting how the offer unfolded:

“Musk tweeted, or X’d, I guess, that he would like to come on here and talk to me as long as the show airs unedited,” Stewart told the audience. “After thinking about his offer, I thought, you know, hey, that’s actually how the in-studio interviews normally air, is unedited. So, sure, we’d be delighted.”

Not only did Stewart agree, but he went even further, offering Musk complete control over the interview length.

“Let me sweeten or unsweeten the pot: The interview could be 15 minutes, it could be an hour, it could be two hours,” Stewart said.

“I’ll be honest, I don’t think this network makes any other programming. So we can do whatever the f‑‑‑ we want as long as we wrap before the new season of South Park, which comes out in like May or June of 2026.”

“So I am game. I think it would be a very interesting conversation,” Stewart added.

But then Stewart turned to Musk’s sudden change of heart and his accusation that Stewart is a “propagandist.”

“The guy who custom-made his own ‘Dark MAGA’ hat that he wears to opine in the Oval Office with the president, who he spent $270 million to elect, thinks I’m just too partisan,” Stewart said, referencing Musk’s financial support of Donald Trump.

“I’m really not sure what he thinks bipartisan means, but it’s generally not, ‘I support Donald Trump and also Germany’s AFD Party.’ That’s not bipartisan. That’s just the same s‑‑‑,” Stewart added, taking aim at Musk’s alignment with the far-right German political party.

Despite the public spat, Stewart reiterated that his criticism of DOGE was not rooted in partisanship, but rather in accountability.

“Look Elon, I do have some criticisms about DOGE. I support, in general, the idea of efficiency and delivering better services to the American public in cheaper and more efficient ways. And if you want to come on and talk about it on the show, great. If you don’t want to, sure.”

However, Stewart called on Musk to drop the act of pretending his decision was about journalistic neutrality rather than avoidance.

“But can we just drop the pretense that you won’t do it because I don’t measure up to the standards of neutral discourse that you demand and display at all times?” Stewart asked.

“Because, quite frankly, that’s bulls‑‑‑. You know it, I know it. Bulls‑‑‑,” he said.

  1. John Stewart would crush Elon Musk so badly that even the delusional tech bro fan boys will have to look away. Musk is intelligent obviously but lets be honest he’s not that articulate when he can’t hide behind a keyboard
