The hype for the Chainsaw Man anime is insurmountable and unlike anything we have ever seen before. The manga series already has over 13 million copies in circulation in Japan and has also been very successful in the West, constantly charting among the Best-Selling Graphic Novels in the United States every month.
The anime’s final trailer garnered over 10 million views on Youtube within just ten days and over 9 million views on Twitter within the same time frame. Alongside its upcoming anime adaptation, Part 2 of the manga series has also become the talk of the town and has been the Second Most-Read Manga on Shueisha’s Manga Plus app, only behind One Piece.

But that’s not it. According to TV Time, Chainsaw Man is also the Most Anticipated New TV Show of Fall 2022 around the world, leaving behind TV Shows like AMC’s Interview with the Vampire and the Supernatural spinoff, The Winchesters.

The English dub of Chainsaw Man premiered at New York Comic Con on Friday, the 7th of October, with an overwhelmingly positive response as it has been praised for being a faithful adaptation of the manga. The rest of the world can check the series out when it comes to Crunchyroll and other region-based streaming services on the 11th of October at 12:00 PM EST.
The show’s voice cast includes Kikunosuke Toya, who will be voicing Denji and Shiori Izawa (Nanachi in Made in Abyss), who will be voicing Pochita alongside Tomori Kusunoki (Natsume in Deca-Dence) as Makima, Shogo Sakata (Karin Sasaki in Fire Force) as Aki Hayakawa, and Fairouz Ai (Jolyne Kujo in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) as Power.
Chainsaw Man will have a different ending theme song for each episode.
“KICK BACK” by Kenshi Yonezu will be the official opening theme for the anime. The theme song was also featured in the final trailer. Meanwhile, the anime will have a different ending theme for each episode, the lineup of which includes TK from Ling tosite sigure, Aimer, and Eve.
Chainsaw Man is based on the widely popular and award-winning manga of the same name written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, who is also the creator of the widely acclaimed manga Fire Punch; alongside some beautiful and brilliant recent one-shots; Look Back and Goodbye, Eri.
Part 1 of the manga series was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. While Part 2 is currently being serialized on the Jump+ app in Japan.

Chainsaw Man follows Denji, a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, Denji has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is backstabbed and killed. As his consciousness fades away, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man,” a man with a devil’s heart.
The anime series is directed by Ryū Nakayama (The Rising of the Shield Hero, Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia), while the screenplay is written by Hiroshi Seko, who has also done Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Mob Psycho 100, and Banana Fish.
The character design is done by Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation), and the devil design by Kiyotaka Oshiyama (The Wind Rises, The Secret World of Arrietty, Space Dandy). The art direction is by Yusuke Takeda (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song, Sword Art Online, Penguin Highway), and the music is composed by Kensuke Ushio (The Heike Story, Devilman: Crybaby, Space Dandy).
