Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0 is a prequel story to the original anime series that has sold over 200,000 discs in home release and over 35 million copies in manga volumes since the start of 2021.
The prequel story follows Yuuta Okkotsu, who is haunted by the ghosts of his past. Ever since his childhood friend Rika died in a traffic accident, her ghost has been stuck with him. But her spirit does not appear as the sweet girl Yuuta once knew. Instead, Rika manifests as a monstrous and powerful entity who fiercely protects him. Although unable to control Rika’s violent behaviour, Yuuta is helpless to stop the bloodshed that follows from her brutal vengeance. As a result, Yuuta is apprehended by “Jujutsu” sorcerers who protect the world from curses such as Rika.

But the world’s strongest sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, has different plans for him as he makes Yuuta join Jujutsu Tech and learn to control Rika in the process.
Now a first-year at this new high school, Yuuta learns to battle evil curses and use the cursed energy for good. Alongside his new classmates Maki Zenin, a Jujutsu weapons expert; Toge Inumaki, a spellcaster who uses his words as weapons; and Panda, a seemingly walking and talking panda bear, Yuuta finally begins to find his place in the world and, for once, to feel comfortable with what he has been given.
However, as his training progresses, Yuuta learns that the dangers of the Jujutsu world go far beyond that of just wicked spirits.
The movie is scheduled to be released in the United States and Canada on March 18 with the tickets going on sale starting February 25.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 is currently streaming on both Crunchyroll and Funimation. The anime is streaming on Netflix in Japan and India.
