2021 was a really special year for comic-book fans as we got to explore a lot of things that we didn’t think we would be experiencing a couple of years ago, both on the big screen and on television.

It was a year, where all the major streaming platforms took a huge bet on this genre, for better or for worse. And as a result of that cut-throat competition, we have been blessed with some truly spectacular superhero shows.

Above all though, the year really did belong to Marvel more than any other franchise, whether it was the big screens or the telly. And even amongst them, WandaVision was probably their most definitive and beloved series, our polls were not any different as 16.96% (1,702 votes) of our readers’ total votes went to WandaVision, making it the Second Best Superhero TV Show of 2021 of TV Fandom Lounge.

All of the television outings from Marvel also made it to our Top 10, with the mischievously charming Loki, taking the fourth spot with 897 votes, changing the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which pried off the chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan was 6th in our list with 363 votes. While What If was 8th in our poll with 66 votes.

And as far as DC is concerned, they delivered one of the most surprising hits and undoubtedly most emotionally resonant comic book adaptations of the year, that too from The CW of all places. Superman and Lois won all of our hearts with its brilliant writing, passionate production, and outstanding performances from Tyler Hoechlin, Bitsie Tulloch and the entire cast of the series. The series continues to see a lot of love and is 3rd in our poll for the Best Superhero TV Series of 2021 with 1,073 votes.

The only other entry from The CW amongst our Readers’ Top 10 is Legends of Tomorrow with 52 votes as it took the final spot in our list.

Apart from The CW, both of DC’s HBO Max live-action adaptations also made it to our Readers’ Top 10.

Doom Patrol took the 7th spot with 125 votes as it remains as whimsical as ever while Titans took the 9th spot with 55 votes as it continues down its recurring path of being severely mediocre.

My Hero Academia, was fifth in our polls with a 3.62% (460 votes) share of our total votes. Although, the series did face some backlash for the way it handled My Villain Academia in a season abundant with filler, it still remains insanely popular with the fans and still had its moment of glory as we got to see the origin story of Shigaraki and learn more about Deku’s new power.

Comic-book adaptations continue to thrive and we have been seeing better and bigger Superhero TV shows every few months now. And with Marvel and DC’s future slate, we just can’t wait to see what 2022 brings to us and to hear your opinions and thoughts again. You can check out the full list below.

Note: A lot of our readers voted for The Boys but since it didn’t air this season, we didn’t include it as a part of our final results.
